Urimax 0.4 mg capsule is an alpha-blocker medication intended for use by men only. It is not recommended for use by women or children. This medication does not treat prostate cancer but is effective in reducing symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia, a non-cancerous condition caused by excessive dihydrotestosterone production in men, leading to an enlargement of the prostate gland and resulting in urinary problems such as difficulty starting urination, weak urine stream, frequent or urgent urination especially at night, and feeling of incomplete bladder emptying. It is used primarily for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia-BPH (enlarged prostate) and urinary bladder outlet obstruction.
Urimax 0.4mg works by relaxing the muscle of the prostate gland and the neck of the urinary bladder at the site of obstruction, leading to improved urine flow and reduce symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Urimax 0.4 is available in oral capsule dosage forms.
Tamsulosin and dutasteride are combined in Urimax D tablet. Urimax mainly relaxes the inflammatory muscles of the prostate and bladder by acting as an alpha-blocker. The drug reduces the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), such as weak urine flow, increased need to urinate, and difficulty urinating. The patient's medical history and how well they respond to treatment both affect the dosage. Usually, this drug is taken every day, half an hour after food.

Urimax is available in the dose of 0.4 mg capsule and tablet. The dosage varies based on the clinical conditions and the patient's body weight etc.
