By Pace Hospitals September 24, 2022
Gynecomastia (GM) is a condition where there will be an enlargement of the male breast due to non-cancerous expansion of the glandular tissue and fat deposition under the nipple area. The majority of the adult men with gynaecomastia have no symptoms. The following are some signs and symptoms of the gynecomastia such as enlargement of either one or both breasts, painful nipple or tender formation & nipple sensitivity with rubbing against clothes.

Gynecomastia is a condition marked by the enlargement of breast tissue in males, often resulting from a hormonal imbalance that typically involves elevated estrogen levels or decreased testosterone levels. This condition can arise from various factors, including puberty, aging, certain medications, and health issues that impact hormone levels. Common symptoms include swelling of the breast tissue and tenderness. While gynecomastia is usually benign, it may lead to discomfort or feelings of self-consciousness. Gynecomastia treatment options vary based on the underlying cause and severity of the condition, ranging from lifestyle modifications and medications to surgical procedures.
