A head injury occurs when force or trauma impacts the skull or brain, potentially leading to concussions, fractures, or brain damage. These injuries can be modest, such as bumps or bruises, to severe, including traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Symptoms may include headache, dizziness, confusion, nausea, and memory loss. In some cases, head injuries can result in long-term effects like cognitive impairment or personality changes. Immediate medical attention is required for an accurate diagnosis and treatment. Early intervention reduces the chance of problems, prevents further damage, and aids recovery. Prevention includes wearing protective gear and avoiding risky activities.

Join the PACE Hospitals Podcast with Dr. U L Sandeep Varma - Consultant Brain and Spine Surgeon at PACE Hospitals, Hyderabad, India to explore causes, risk factors, complications, and treatment options for head injuries.
