Dr. Shweta Anand Discusses Sleep Apnea and Snoring: A Comprehensive Look at Diagnosis and Treatment

Pace Hospitals

Sleep apnea and snoring are common sleep disorders that affect millions of people. Sleep apnea is a serious condition where breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep, often leading to daytime fatigue and other health issues. Snoring, on the other hand, is caused by the vibration of throat tissues due to blocked airways. Symptoms of sleep apnea include loud snoring, choking or gasping during sleep, excessive daytime sleepiness, and difficulty concentrating. Causes can range from obesity and anatomical factors to nasal congestion. Treatment options vary and may include lifestyle changes, CPAP therapy, or surgical interventions depending on the severity and underlying causes.
